Impact de la Pollution Par Les Hydrocarbures Sur la Qualité des Eaux Usées Dans la Région de Skikda

This study was approached with the aim of determining the quality of water discharges in various unities of the petrochemical complex of Skikda. The samples of water were taken from seven different sites, five in the industrial platform and two, at the points of draining of all the residual waters (oued Saf-saf and oued Zeramna). In a first part, we tried to appreciate the degree of water pollution by analysis of the physico-chemical parameters such as: temperature, pH, MES, CE, DBO5, DCO, nitrates, nitrites, orthophosphates and chlorides. At the same time, we proceeded to a dosage of hydrocarbons in the discharges emanating from main unities of the complex. The results show that there is a difference between the values of the analyzed physico-chemical parameters and those recommended by internationals norms. They often exceed the acceptable values. The evaluation of the degree of water pollution remains difficult to establish, because it is often bound to the multiple interactions between the nature of the pollutant, water and environmental factors.

Spell of Intrigue

FRADI HAD RECENTLY DIED, which made it all the more remarkable for him to realize that he was once again awake. That is to say, on the one hand he was rather surprised, but on the other hand he was scarcely surprised at all. He was aware that "recently" was a relative term under the circumstances, but his attendance at his own deathbed, surrounded by those glad to see the last of him, did seem to have taken place not long before. That, in any event, was not the point. By any standard it was a refreshing situation. He was not in pain. He had been in no shortage of pain, and had expected (if anything) to awaken into an environment where the continuation of mere physical pain would be the least of his worries. Renewed life after death was an article of faith, but the multiplicity of faiths differed sharply on the nature of that life, and on the correlation of one's circumstances in the next with one's behavior in the last. Out of self-defense Fradi had cleaved to a faith that stressed accomplishment rather than slippery value judgments of good and evil, but he had always harbored some residuum of doubt. He was quite happy, though, to be reassured. One so rarely gets an article of faith confirmed.

The 7 hidden reasons employees leave: how to recognize the subtle

The 7 Hidden Reasons Employees Leave can help you identify the "push" factors in your organization, and mitigate or eliminate all of them. Incorporating data from surveys performed by the prestigious Saratoga Institute of more than 19,000 employees, this critical book examines in depth: * How the employee and the employer travel a two-way street of expectation and reality; what are the warning signs of unmet expectations, and how can you best act on them? * How incomplete talent strategies lead to employee-job mismatches; why a passion for matching must become a core competency in your organization. * The ultimate cost of insufficient or ineffectual feedback; a five-step coaching process that builds strong and durable working relationships. * How growth and advancement opportunities are not keeping pace with new career expectations; how to create opportuinities and help your employees create their own. * Best pay practices, rewards programs, and other initiatives for valuing and recognizing employees; understanding the emotional impact of compensation and recognition programs. * The real toll that stress and overwork take on your employees - and on your bottom line; a look at how the best places to work in America got that way, even without high-profile or "newfangled" perks or benefits. * How leadership and employees can (and must) build an environment of mutual trust and confidence; the three universal questions every employee needs answered, and how a disengaged workforce

Starfish

When civilization needs someone to run generating stations three kilometres below the surface of the Pacific, it seeks out a special sort of person for its Rifters program. It recruits those whose histories have pre-adapted them to dangerous environments, people so used to broken bodies and chronic stress that life on the edge of an undersea volcano would actually be a step up. Nobody worries too much about job satisfaction; if you haven't spent a lifetime learning the futility of fighting back, you wouldn't be a rifter in the first place. It's a small price to keep the lights going, back on shore. But there are things among the cliffs and trenches of the Juan de Fuca Ridge that no one expected to find ...

Digital Rubbish

A study of the material life of information and its devices; of electronic waste in its physical and electronic incarnations; a cultural and material mapping of the spaces where electronics in the form of both hardware and information accumulate, break down, or are stowed away. Where other studies have addressed “digital” technology through a focus on its immateriality or virtual qualities, Gabrys traces the material, spatial, cultural and political infrastructures that enable the emergence and dissolution of these technologies. In the course of her book, she explores five interrelated “spaces” where electronics fall apart: from Silicon Valley to Nasdaq, from containers bound for China to museums and archives that preserve obsolete electronics as cultural artifacts, to the landfill as material repository. Digital Rubbish describes the materiality of electronics from a unique perspective, examining the multiple forms of waste that electronics create as evidence of the resources, labor, and imaginaries that are bundled into these machines. Ranging across studies of media and technology, as well as environments, geography, and design, Jennifer Gabrys draws together the far-reaching material and cultural processes that enable the making and breaking of these technologies.

The Environment of Lyman α Absorbers in the Sightline towards 3C273

We present new ground-based data following up on the HST discovery of low-redshift Lyman α absorption in the sight-line to the quasar 3C273. Our goal is to investigate the relationship between the low-column-density absorbers and higher column-density objects such as galaxies or H II regions. Narrow-band filter observations with a corono- graph show that there are no H II regions or other strong Hα line-emitting gas within a 12 kpc radius of the line-of-sight to the quasar, at the velocities of three of the absorbers. Broad-band imaging in Gunn r shows that there are no dwarf galaxies at Virgo distances with absolute magnitude above M B ≈-13.5 and within a radius of 40 kpc from the line- of-sight to the quasar

The Local Galaxy Density and the Arm Class of Spiral Galaxies

We have examined the effect of the environmental density on the arm classi- fication of an extensive sample of spiral galaxies included in the Nearby Galaxy Catalog (Tully, 1988a). We have also explored the dependence of the arm class of a galaxy on other factors, such as its blue absolute magnitude and its disk- to-total mass ratio, inferred in the literature either from the gradient of a good galaxy rotation curve or from a photometric mass decomposition method.

Clustering and Trend Analysis of Global Extreme Droughts from 1900 to 2014

Drought is one of the most devastating environmental disasters. Analyzing historical changes in climate extremes is critical for mitigating its adverse impacts in the future. In the present study, the spatial and temporal characteristics of the global severe droughts using Palmer Drought Intensity Index (PDSI) from 1900 to 2014 are explored. K-means clustering is implemented to partition the extreme negative PDSI values. The global extreme droughts magnitude around the world from 1950 to 1980 were less intense compared to the other decades. In 2012, the largest areas around the world, especially Canada, experienced their most severe historical droughts. Results show that the most recent extreme droughts occurred in some regions such as the North of Canada, central regions of the US, Southwest of Europe and Southeast Asia. We found that after 1980, the spatial extent of the regions that experienced extreme drought have increased substantially.

101 TIPS AND TECHNIQUES FOR COOKING LIKE A CHEF

This is a book that I wrote about the popular foods used by our people in the Negev. I wrote my article and explained the ways of making these foods and how to prepare them, and arranged his chapters according to the types of food, which are made from dairy products under their own section, which are made from grains or plants that fall under another section and so on. With the rest. Some of these articles have already been published in Akhbar Al-Naqab newspaper, and I naturally reviewed them before and again, but I have also carefully reviewed them and added a sentence here and a word there, like everyone who is keen to do it and the quality of what it offers people. The reader has fallen on some indignities, and excuse that we are human beings and perfection for us and perfection for God alone. Our goal was not to make this book a cookbook about ingredients and how to prepare food, but we wanted to document these things that bind our present to our past, to remember how our people were convinced of a little, how they adapted to the circumstances and the nature of the environment in which they lived, and how they followed the path of contentment and lived on The subsistence, and how these circumstances led to the rooting of the habit of generosity in them and the villages of the guest, and all the qualities related to the generosity, in addition to mutual respect and lend a hand and help. In conclusion, here is the book of folk food in your hands with fat and meat and authentic heritage material
